Following Dougies death Sherry was heartbroken. Her mental health suffered greatly and she was having more and more self destructive thoughts. Sherry would bang her head repeatedly against the wall, she would pull nearly all her hair out, she would scratch her neck and face with her nails and she would burn herself with her cigarettes.

More serious self harm was taking place now in that Sherry was trying to use items of clothing in attempts at self strangulation. Just after Dougies death Sherry managed to swallow a battery from her walkman in front of two members of staff.
